Grammar

  1. Parts of Speech: Rorakake has 4 simple parts of speech: NOUNS, VERBS, DESCRIPTORS, PREPOSITIONS.
  2. Word Order: Possessee-Possessor, Subject-Verb-Object, Noun-Adjective, Preposition-Noun.
  3. Situation Nouns: Relative clauses, participles, gerunds, and adjectified verbs are indicated with situation nouns. They are marked by putting quotes around the clause or verb.
    Examples:
The cat that I love: Kutari "pu pati".
    I am playing: Pu "peta".
I like singing: Pu pati "piru".
    I played: Pu "peta rekigi".
  4. Sentences in Rorakake always end with a question mark, an exclamation mark, or a period.
  5. To group nouns in Rorakake, place the nouns together with Ru as the conjunction.
  6. To make plural nouns in Rorakake, place the word Kagi after a noun.
Example: Po pegu kutari kagi ru kitaru.
("SHE OWN CAT MANY AND DOG.")
  7. Words with I, U, E, and O mostly have opposites.
  8. Articles in Rorakake don't exist.
  9. Sentence Types:
    • Question: Put a question mark at the end of a sentence.
    • Declarative: Do nothing.
    • Request: Put taru at the beginning of the sentence.
    • Demand: Put teru at the beginning of the sentence.
    • Optative: Put re at the beginning of the sentence.
  10. Possessives are marked by putting Re in between the possessee and possessor.
  11. Superlatives and Comparatives: Marked as demonstrated with the adjective "happy":
    • serosu kagu: the least happy
    • serosu kega: less happy
    • serosu kiga: happier
    • serosu koga: happiest
  12. Question Words: To form different types of questions, place the following words at the beginning of the clause:

    Why: Roga
    Who: Riga
    When: Riko
    What kind of: Riku

  13. Noun phrases can be created by putting the head noun before the describing noun. Verbs work exactly the same.
  14. Intransitive sentences are made with the subject and verb only.
  15. Descriptors can describe other descriptors.
Example: Kigiki serosu ("Happily together" / "TOGETHER HAPPY")
  16. To say someone is (Adjective), simply put the noun and the adjective with the copula Ki before the adjective. This is not used for tenses and can be used for two nouns.
  17. Direct objects always come before indirect objects, with no prepositions.
  18. Tenses: Formed with auxiliary verbs.
Past: (VERB) Rekigi / (VERB) Bi
    Present: (VERB) (no marker)
Future: (VERB) Rokugu / (VERB) Ra
  19. To form passive verbs, use the subject of the verb as the object.
Example: Ice melts: Riga kugoku rega.
("MELT BLOCK COLD." where "BLOCK COLD" is ice.)
  20. Numbers are created with different factors from most to least significant.
Example: 12 is represented as 22, or Kaga kiga kiga.
(Literally: "TWO FIVES, AND A TWO.")
  21. To signify the main subject of discussion, use the topic marker Ti after the noun.
Example: Speaking of the baby, it's learning to walk! Biki ti kerigi "tare!"
    (Literally: "BABY TOPIC-MARKER LEARN "WALK!"")
